How it works in a group
A mixed-language group doesn’t need everyone to agree on one language. Each person reads in their own.
- Add @world_translate_bot to the group like any member.
- Reply /tr to the message you want to read. The translation appears as a reply, in your Telegram language.
- Need a specific language? Add its code: /tr es for Spanish, /tr de for German.
Photos and screenshots in groups
Reply /tr to a photo, a screenshot or a document in the chat and the bot translates the text in it, just like in a private chat. Handy for schedules, tickets and price lists that get posted as pictures.
Who is charged
Each translation is counted to the person who asked for it, from their free translations or their own purchases. Adding the bot costs the group nothing, and nobody pays for translations they didn’t request.
It doesn’t read your chat
The bot only receives messages that start with /tr and the message they reply to. Everything else in the group stays invisible to it, which is why it needs no admin rights.
Write in your language, send in theirs
In any chat, even one the bot isn’t in, type @world_translate_bot followed by your message. A list of languages appears; pick one and your message is sent already translated. It is the quickest way to answer a foreign-language chat without switching apps.

- Send a text, a photo, a screenshot or a file, or forward a message.
- Tap the language you need. The translation arrives in the same chat a few seconds later.

Questions
Does the bot need to be an admin?
No. It works as an ordinary member and only sees messages that start with /tr.
Does it translate every message automatically?
No, only when someone asks with /tr. That keeps a busy group readable and nobody pays for translations they don’t need.
Which language does /tr translate into?
Into your Telegram language by default. Add a language code to choose another one, for example /tr fr.
Can I use it in a channel?
In a channel’s comments, yes: they are a group. To translate a channel post itself, forward it to the bot in a private chat.
How do I send a message already translated?
Type @world_translate_bot, a space and your text in any chat, then tap the language. Telegram sends the translation as your message.
